One of Nigeria’s most accomplished senior police officers, AIG Sylvester Abiodun Alabi fdc, was decorated with his new rank at the Force Headquarters, Louis Edet House, Abuja on Thursday, April 6, 2023.
It was a day the officer who hails from Ilawe-Ekiti would have hugged if he could get his arms around it.
Alabi, who was thereafter posted from Zone ‘2’ Headquarters in Lagos to Zone ‘12’ Bauchi, was decorated by his beautiful wife, Tosin, the Yeye Okanlomo of Ilawe Ekiti, and IGP Usman Alkali Baba.

Alabi is an alumnus of the University of Lagos where he studied sociology and obtained a Bachelor of Science degree, Second Class Upper division. He later obtained his master’s degree at the Obafemi Awolowo University Ile-Ife in 1989. He is a member of the Nigeria Institute of Management (mnim), and a Fellow of the National Defence College (fdc), Abuja.
