Many people reportedly lost their lives, while several others were injured in an accident involving a train and a loaded Lagos State staff bus in Ikeja, Lagos, this morning.
NewsmakersNG learned that the accident occurred at about 8 am at the PWD railway crossing, Ladipo bus stop, along the Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway.
The bus which was coming from Ikotun, in the Alimosho area, was less than a kilometer from its destination in Ikeja when the accident.
Online footage of the accident shows eyewitnesses trying to rescue some of the trapped passengers.
The injured passengers have been moved to the Lagos State Teaching Hospital, Ikeja, where all routine services have been put on hold in order to attend to the injured survivors.
