The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, has announced Delta State governor, Ifeanyi Okowa, as his running mate for next year’s general elections.
Atiku made the announcement via a tweet this afternoon, in an apparent bid to beat tomorrow’s deadline set by the Independent National Electoral Commission for political parties to upload the names of their candidates on the electoral body’s portal.
Atiku’s tweet reads, “I am delighted to announce Governor @IAOkowa as my Vice Presidential candidate. I look forward to travelling our great country together, engaging with all Nigerians and building a shared future of peace, unity, and prosperity for all. As One We Can Get It Done. #OneNigeria. -AA.”
