For Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Usman Alkali Baba, decorating promoted senior officers is all in a day’s work.
But when the IGP set out to decorate a husband and wife as commissioners of police on Friday, January 14, 2022, it was something out of the ordinary.
The decoration of Mr. and Mrs. Kehinde and Yetunde Longe will go down in history as the first time a husband and wife will be decorated the same day as commissioners of police.
It was a day the couple would have hugged if they could get their arms around it.
It’s an ultimate record-setting achievement for the Longe family, a rare accomplishment that could earn them a place in the Guinness Book of World Records.
