The maiden edition of the Ishaq Abiola Ajimobi Memorial Ramaddan Lecture in recognition of the enduring legacies of the late former Oyo State governor, will hold today in Ibadan.

A statement by the Ishaq Abiola Ajimobi Central Mosque Management Committee, organisers of the lecture, says that the lecture will hold at the mosque located in Oke-Ado area of the Oyo State capital.

According to the chairman of the committee, Alhaji M.A. Siyanbade, the lecture will commence at 11am.

The statement adds that attendance will be strictly by invitation due to COVID-19 regulations, while enjoining well-wishers and members of the public to join the event virtually using the following details: Zoom Login ID: 89640077732, Password: M57S6L.

The lecture will be delivered by revered cleric, Sheikh Muhydeen Ajani Bello.

Members of the immediate family of the late Ajimobi are expected to attend the lecture.

The statement also reads, “One of the many enduring legacies of our leader, H E Alhaj Senator Ishaq Abiola Ajimobi, the late immediate past Governor of Oyo State, is the ISHAQ ABIOLA AJIMOBI CENTRAL MOSQUE (ISAM), which Allah (swt) inspired him to single-handedly build.

“This imposing edifice, built at Oke Ado, was commissioned by no less a personality than the President-General of Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs in Nigeria and Sultan of Sokoto, His Eminence Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar on Sunday 16th December, 2018, commemorating His Excellency’s Birthday anniversary.

“The Mosque has continued to attract very large number of worshippers, which extends to the outside of the worship hall every Friday, Alhamdulillah. Prayers are offered for the repose of his soul at every Jumu’ah service.

“May Allah accept this service as Sadaqatul Jaariyyah for H.E. Sen. Ishaq Abiola Ajimobi

“Starting from this year’s Ramadan, the Management of the Mosque intends to have an annual program in his honour, tagged ISHAQ AJIMOBI MEMORIAL RAMADAN LECTURE, in shaa Allah.”
