All staff of First Bank of Nigeria have been warned through a memo to stay away from two hospitals in Lagos that have been exposed to COVID-19.

The leaked memo dated April 19, 2020, identified the hospitals as St Edwards Hospital, Ajah, Lagos State and Premier Specialist Hospital, Victoria Island, Lagos State.

The memo issued by the Group Head, HCMD of First Bank of Nigeria, stated: “We have received information that due to COVID-19 exposure, the following two Lagos-based hospitals have suspended operations till further notice…”

The memo also directed all staff who might have visited the hospitals or had contact with anyone who had been there between April 11 and 17 to immediately call a doctor named on the memo.

In another development, the Management at Vedic Lifecare Hospital in Lagos also issued a statement to warn customers and visitors of exposure to COVID-19 after treating a patient at the facility which has now been sealed up by NCDC.

The statement says, “Approx 10 days ago, we had admitted a patient who was later tested positive for COVID 19 after he was discharged. We also had 2 stall members who tested positive yesterday evening.

“The patient and our stat! are now being managed by the NCDC at their Isolation center. Till this moment they do not show any symptoms.

“All staff members have been maintaining mandatory PPE gear since the last 25 days.

“The facility is currently closed off for decontamination of the building. The fumigation was already carried out by NCDC on 18th April.

“We are currently testing the remaining staff members and will continue to update everyone on all platforms.

“If you have visited the hospital in the last 10 days, we request you to get tested and stay isolated.”

Authorities in Lagos have also issued a notice on hospitals that have been exposed to COVID-19.

Here’s the notice:

Dear All, 

We have received information that due to the COVID – 19 exposure the following Lagos hospitals have suspended operations until further notice:

1.         St. Edwards Hospital, Ajah Lagos

2.         Premier Specialist Hospital, Victoria Island, Lagos

3.         Vedic Lifecare Hospital, Lekki Lagos

4.         First Cardiology Consultants Hospital, Ikoyi, Lagos

5.         County Hospital, Ogba Lagos

Consequently, all staff and/or family members who may have visited the hospital or staff who may have been in contact with anyone who visited any of the above-listed hospitals between April 10th, 2020 and April 19th 2020, are required to immediately call NCDC HOTLINE.
