The Abuja chapter of the National Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ) has celebrated the 30 years anniversary of its national body with pomp and ceremonies.

Clad in green and orange Ankara fabric, members of the female branch of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) looked radiant and gorgeous.

The Association also unveiled the logo of International Day of the Girl Child to mark the Day.

The 30 years anniversary was garnished with various talks, where female Journalists were encouraged to double their source of income.

One of the speakers at the epoch-making event, Husseina Akila, a staff of Radio Nigeria, urged female Journalists to seize every opportunity available to enhance more income.

She said despite unnecessary harassment from men of easy value, NAWOJ members should thrive for the best in the discharge of their duties.

Other varieties for the event included taking care of selected widows and poor children.

Present at the event was the National President of NUJ, Chris Isiguzo, and the officials, representative of Actionaid, Market Women Association, representative of the Ministry of Women Affairs, and other dignitaries.
