Detectives in Ogun have tracked down a man who has been on the run since he allegedly shot two men dead in the state.

According to Ogun State police spokesman, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, the suspect identified as Oladosu Nureni a.k.a Otelee was arrested on Wednesday over the murder of two persons in Iwoye village, via Ilaro.

Oyeyemi disclosed to NewsmakersNG in a statement that the suspect on March 27, 2019, reportedly killed one Onifade Ajani with Dane gun for a yet to be known reason, and while the community people were trying to apprehend him, he used the same Dane gun to kill another person identified as Olatunji Ayinla before he fled.

Oyeyemi stated: “On the 7th of August 2019, the Area Commander, ACP Chris Adeyeri received information that the suspect has been sighted at Irogun-Ishaga village, consequent upon which he mobilized his men and stormed the village where the suspect was arrested at about 10:20 pm. Recovered from him are locally made gun, gun powder and assorted charms.

“Meanwhile the Commissioner of Police, CP Bashir Makama has ordered the immediate transfer of the suspect to Homicide Section of the State Criminal investigations and Intelligence Department for proper investigation and prosecution.”
