One Nigeria’s most influential online personalities, Dr. Joe Abah, has kick-started a fundraiser on Twitter in support of Bukola Dakolo’s legal battle should Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo, whom she accused of raping her, decide to sue for defamation.

Busola, photographer and wife of popular musician, Timi Dakolo, had alleged in an interview with Chude Jideonwo of Y!TV that Fatoyinbo, who is the founder of Commonwealth of Zion Assembly (COZA), raped her twice while she was 17.

Fatoyinbo had denied the allegation and also threatened legal action in a statement posted on his Instagram handle yesterday, same day Busola’s interview was made public.

Abah, who is also a former Director General of the Bureau for Public Service Reforms, announced his intentions in a post on his Twitter handle, @DrJoeAbah, yesterday.

The tweet read: “I have seen Biodun Fatoyinbo’s statement. I look forward to him carrying out his threat to sue Busola Dakolo. As Mrs Dakolo doesn’t have a church that can fund her defence, I have set aside a little money to contribute to her defence. Please do so too. #IStandWithBusolaDakolo.”

Since Abah made tweet less than 24 hours ago, scores of Twitter users, including Channels TV presenter, Maupe Ogun, have pledged various sums to support the cause.
