Police detectives hunting the suspected kidnappers of a North Korean in Zamfara State have released telephone hot lines for members of the public who might have information useful for the rescue operation.

Dr Jang Sunail, a medical doctor attached to the General Hospital at Tsafe area of Zamfara State, was reported missing on Tuesday.

A statement from the spokesman at Zamfara State Police Command, SP Mohammed Shehu, reads in part: “On 26th March, 2019 at about 0945hrs, one Dr LI Dong also attached to the same hospital as a medical doctor reported the missing of the expatriate to DPO Tsafe. He informed the DPO that on same date, the officer who lives in staff quarters of the hospital was not seen in his room inside the house he shares with three (3) other staff of the hospital.

“The DPO led a team of detectives to the quarters where the main entrance gates of the house and his room were opened with no sign of break-up or struggle.

“The Commissioner of police, CP Celestine C. Okoye fsi has as a matter of urgency directed the Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (CIID), State Intelligence Bureau (SIB) and Anti-kidnapping Squad to commence a discreet Investigation as well as to conduct search and rescue Operation with a view to rescue and unravel the circumstances behind the missing of the expatriate.
