Police have told a Katsina Senior Magistrates’ Court how a 14-year-old victim severed the manhood of a man who allegedly raped her.
The suspect, Bishir Yau, is facing a charge of rape under Section 283 of the Penal Code.
The police prosecutor, Inspector Sani Ado, told the court on Friday that investigation into the case had been completed.
According to the police, the suspect was arrested at the Kankara General Hospital.
The suspect, who lives in Yargase village, was reportedly rushed to the hospital for treatment after which information about his alleged atrocities leaked to the police.
Police alleged that the 30-year-old suspect lured his victim residing in the same compound with him to a nearby uncompleted building, where he repeatedly raped her.
NewsmakersNG learnt that the victim struggled unsuccessfully to free herself from Yau’s grip and brought out a razor blade with which she cut off her assailant’s manhood.
The presiding Magistrate, Fadila Dikko, directed that Yau who is currently on bail should be brought before her April 4, 2019.
