Son of the late MKO Abiola, Kola, receives his father's award from Buhari.

President Mohammadu Buhari today confered national honours on the late MKO Abiola, the acclaimed winner of the annuled June 12, 1993, presidential election.

Abiola received a posthumous award of Grand Commander of Federal Republic (GCFR).

Abiola’s running mate, Ambassador Babagana Kingibe, was decorated with Grand Commander of the Order of the Niger (GCON).

Human rights lawyer, the late Chief Gani Fawehimi also received GCON.
