Seven family members have been identified among eight casualties in a road accident on Enugu-Onitsha Road today.
According to the Police the accident occurred at Ugwuonyeama on the Enugu-Onitsha Road on Sunday morning.
The police spokesman in Enugu, Mr. Ebere Amaraizu, confirmed the accident occurred at about 8 a.m.
Amaraizu said the accident involved a Toyota car marked CM960FKJ and Toyota Hiace bus marked ENU75YY, belonging to a mass transit company.
“The two vehicles collided,’’ he said.
He added that seven passengers in the Toyota car, who were found to be members of the same family, died in the incident.
“Their bodies had been deposited in the mortuary of the Enugu State University Teaching Hospital – ESUT, at Parklane,” he said, adding that four other passengers sustained injuries in the accident and were receiving medical attention at same the hospital.
