After some speed networking today, the son of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar who was remanded in a transit cell for contempt of court has breathed the air of freedom.

Aminu Atiku Abubakar was remanded in the transit cell of Tinubu Chief Magistrate’s Court, in Lagos, for disobeying the Chief Magistrate, Mrs Kikelomo Ayeye.

Aminu allegedly disobeyed the order made by the Chief Magistrate on October 11 over the custody of his son, who he allegedly forcefully took away from the custody of his estranged wife, Fatimo Bolori.

Mrs Ayeye had earlier ordered the respondent, in the suit marked FCL/29/2017, to produce the child at the first hearing of the case but he failed to do so.

The magistrate, this afternoon, ordered that he should be remanded in the cell until the 6-year-old son is produced in court.
Not long after Aminu was led to the cell by Prisons officials, the child surfaced and the Chief Magistrate came back from recess and ordered his release from the cell.
The Chief Magistrate then ordered that the children, Amirah, 8 and Amir, 6, should be in the custody of their mother for 10 days, pending when permanent living, visiting arrangement would be made.
The matter has been adjourned till November 1, to decide who would have full custody of the two children.
Fatimo and Aminu divorced in 2011.
