Anti-fraud agents, in Ibadan, have held a suspected fraudster who allegedly made N3million by issuing fake Canadian visas.
Operatives at the Ibadan, Oyo State office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), described Akomolehin Johnson Olusesan as a suspected Visa racketeer and self styled Canadian citizen.
According to them, Olusesan was arrested following a petition to the Commission on his alleged involvement in the issuance of fake Canadian visa to unsuspecting members of the public.
EFCC revealed in a statement that Olusesan defrauded his victims of about N3million, going by victims’ complaints.
He allegedly charged between N200, 000 and N1million per visa.
“Eight of the victims have come forward to volunteer useful information to the operatives of the Commission,” says EFCC in a statement.
Newsmakers learnt that copies of fake Canadian visas were recovered from the suspect at the point of arrest.
EFCC told Newsmakers that the suspect would be charged to court as soon as investigations were concluded.
