Five people including two teenagers and a 12-year-old died after being electrocuted at a Turkish water park.
The three children were in the swimming pool – in the town of Akyazi, in Sakarya province – when an electric current shot through it, the state-run Anadolu Agency reported.
The park’s manager, 58, and his son, 30, were killed when they jumped into the pool to try to save the flailing children, according to the private Dogan news agency.
All five were rushed to hospital but could not be saved, while a sixth person was also hospitalised with injuries.
Employees at the water park, around 150 kilometers east of Istanbul, later cut power at the resort.
Citing Turkish officials, Sky News said there was no residual current device (RCD) -which breaks an electrical circuit – at the water park.
Private NTV television said the children were aged 12, 15 and 17.
