The Director General of the Nigerian Television Authority, Salihu Abdulhamid Dembos, has expressed deep sorrow over the death of staff members of NTA Gombe in a fatal road accident along the Gombe–Boliri Road.

In a condolence message issued by the Authority, Dembos said the management and entire workforce of the NTA received the news with profound sadness and a deep sense of loss.

The victims were returning from the wedding ceremony of a colleague when the accident occurred.

According to an update obtained by Newsmakerslive.org, five members of staff lost their lives in the crash, while several others sustained injuries and are receiving medical attention.

Describing the incident as a major loss to the organisation, the NTA Director General said the deceased were dedicated professionals whose commitment, camaraderie and service to the Authority and the nation would be greatly missed.

He noted that their deaths were not only devastating for their immediate families and loved ones, but also for the entire NTA family, particularly staff of the Gombe station.

On behalf of the management and staff of the Nigerian Television Authority, Dembos extended heartfelt condolences to the families of the deceased, the management and staff of NTA Gombe, and all those affected by the tragedy.

He also offered prayers for the repose of the souls of the departed and for strength and comfort for their families, colleagues and friends as they mourn what he described as an irreparable loss.
