5 Killed, Vehicles Razed as Gunmen Strike Again in Anambra

Another attack by unknown gunmen in Anambra State, late yesterday night, has left no fewer than five persons dead and several others injured.

The latest attack took place in Ozubulu, in Ekwusigo Local Government Area of the state, where the operational base of the vigilance group in the area and several vehicles were also set ablaze.

NewsmakersNG learnt that the brother of a popular businessman, identified simply as Bengass, was among those killed in the attack.

The State Police Public Relations Officer, Ikenga Tochukwu, confirmed the incident, but said he had not been briefed on the number of casualties.

He said, “They (gunmen) came in Sienna vehicles, motorcycles and attacked the office of the vigilante. Security operatives have been deployed in the area. The incident happened around 7pm on Sunday.”
