A 33-year-old Nigerian professional, Victoria Kemi Adedoyin, has been found dead in her home in Canada, a development that has thrown her family, colleagues and friends into deep shock.
Adedoyin, described as a high-achieving executive with a multinational company, was last seen after attending church on Sunday, January 18.
According to reports, she went to work the following Monday and later returned home.
Concerns were raised later that day when she failed to join a scheduled online meeting with senior company executives.
Repeated attempts to reach her by phone and messages were unsuccessful, prompting alarm among her colleagues.
The police were subsequently contacted.
Officers reportedly forced their way into her residence, where they discovered her lifeless body.
Initial reports indicated that the coroner had suggested a possible brain aneurysm as the cause of death.
However, that position was later withdrawn after it was determined that there was insufficient evidence to support the claim.
Further investigations are ongoing.
