Nigerian music icon Innocent 2Baba Idibia is trending across social media platforms after a viral video surfaced on Monday showing him being escorted by police officers in the United Kingdom with his hands cuffed behind him.

The short clip, first posted by blogger Tosin Silverdam on TikTok, captured the Afrobeats legend outside a London retail store flanked by uniformed officers who appeared to be leading him away for questioning. Within minutes, the footage spread across X, Facebook, and Instagram, triggering widespread speculation and a flurry of online reactions.

The incident comes just hours after another video emerged showing a heated confrontation between 2Baba and a woman believed to be his wife, Natasha Osawaru, inside a London shop. In that clip, Natasha is heard accusing the singer of shouting at her repeatedly, further fuelling discussions about the state of the couple’s relationship.

As at press time, neither 2Baba nor his management has issued any statement addressing the viral video. UK authorities have also not confirmed whether he was formally arrested, detained, questioned, or released.

This is not the first time the African Queen crooner has faced rumours of an arrest in London. In October, 2Baba was the subject of similar allegations after he failed to appear for a scheduled UK performance. He denied the claims at the time, insisting he suffered a medical emergency and urging fans to stop circulating unverified information.

With the latest clip now dominating conversations online, fans and industry watchers are awaiting clarity from the singer or official sources. Meanwhile, the viral footage continues to drive intense debate as Nigerians and music lovers worldwide share their views on what may have transpired in London.
