A pan-Anioma political group, the Delta North Solidarity Forum has endorsed an aspirant, Prince Ned Nwoko, to represent the Senatorial District at the Red Chamber in 2019.
Rising from its extraordinary executive meeting, held at 1, Parkinson Street, Asaba, on May 1, 2017, the group noted that the “Delta North region is endowed with brilliant individuals with right content of character, integrity, knowledge and experience to represent the area in parliaments: Individuals that have the wherewithal to sponsor quality bills that can help the region and the Nigeria nation rise out of its present economic hardships”.
Wondering why a region with fine individual of sound intelligence could elect bench warmers to represent her at National Assembly, the group vowed to work to ensure that such mistake does not repeat itself come 2019 general election.
On the list of resolutions taken at the end of the meeting are: “To sensitize and mobilize all the citizens of the zone who are 18years and above to take advantage of the current INEC voters registration exercise to register and collect the PVC; to work assiduously to ensure that DNSF carry out enlightenment campaign in all 9 LGA and 98 Federal wards in the Senatorial District; to mobilize the people to checkmate the activities of unscrupulous politicians in the zone, who are fond of using thugs and criminals to subvert the will of the people during elections; to join hands with interest parties to enlighten the electorate to vote for the best candidates from the zone and avoid the temptations of money for votes politics; to map out the necessary structures that will make it impossible for rogue politicians to rig themselves in during elections to represent the good people of Delta North Zone.”
The group also resolved to put necessary structures in place to ensure that benchwarmers can no longer be imposed on Anioma people to represent them at all levels, and to reach out to those in Delta North.
