Uncomfirmed reports say four persons have been killed at a polling unit in Abonima Rivers State.
A student of Kogi State University was also reportedly killed by a stray bullet at a polling unit in Anyigba, when thugs invaded the unit and disrupted voting.
Police also arrested nine suspected thugs in Shomolu area of Lagos around 8am.
NewsmakersNG learnt that the thugs who rode on motorcycles were brandishing charms and molesting people going to vote.
The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Zubairu Muazu, said the suspects have been transferred to the Zone ‘2’ Command headquarters at Onikan for further investigation.
Suspected political thugs also reportedly tried to stop electoral officials from carrying out their duty at Gwale in Kano State but security personnel have intervened and the situation brought under control.
Protesters have also besieged INEC’s headquarters in Imo State but the reason for the protest is not yet known.
Also, there have been reports of disappearance of voting materials at Okrika, Rivers State.
