My London reporter, Charlie Lawrence-Jones, writes on these people found guilty for some of the horrible sex crimes in Britain this year.

While all crimes have a lasting effect on victims, sexual offences can have horrible life-long consequences. Every day courts in London punish sex offenders, child abusers and paedophiles for their horrific actions.

The judges rightly lock many of these disgusting people up, for the harm they have already done and to make sure it doesn’t happen again.

Since the start of the year, a series of despicable criminals have found themselves jailed for offences ranging from rape to ‘upskirting’. Here are their pictures and the stories behind them.

The New Year’s Day sex attacker

Sex attacker Mohammed Abedin was jailed on January 2 (Image: Met Police)

This is the face of the disgusting sex attacker who approached and assaulted two women, just minutes apart, on New Year’s Day.

Mohammed Abedin, 32, went up to the women, who he did not know, tried to engage them in conversation and then sexually assaulted them.

Both attacks happened in the street on Upper Tooting Road on January 1. Abedin, of nearby Montana Road, Tooting Bec, was quickly identified after the first victim contacted police.

He pleaded guilty to two sexual assaults and being in possession of cannabis on January 2 at Wimbledon Magistrates’ Court. On the same day, he was jailed for a year.

He will also be on the Sex Offenders’ Register for ten years. DS James Massey, of the South West Command Unit, who led the investigation, said: “Abedin is a prolific offender, and has shown that he is a risk to women.

“Due to the first victim quickly reporting the incident and then identifying him with officers present, he was detained very quickly.

“The following day he was jailed, where he poses no further risk to the public.”

The rapist who kidnapped and robbed his victim

Mohamad Awais was sentenced to over nine years in prison (Image: Met Police)

Mohammed Awais’ victim got into his vehicle because she believed he was an Uber driver.

At around 12.30am on October 20 last year, the 28-year-old woman had been out with friends in the Dalston area when she ordered a cab on the app.

A white Toyota Auris arrived at her location and she got in the back, believing it to be her cab.

When she voiced her suspicion after the driver did not appear to know where he was supposed to be going, he locked the doors and sped up.

The terrified victim was driven to a dimly-lit alleyway in East Ham where she was raped by Awais.

After the attack, he robbed the victim of her possessions – including her phone, cash and a laptop – and ordered her to get out of the car.

He then drove away.

Identified by the victim

The victim fled and ran as far as she could, hiding in the front garden of a residential property to ensure her attacker was not in pursuit.

She was then able to alert two members of the public in the street who called the police.

An investigation was launched, by officers from the Child Abuse and Sexual Offences Command, and Awais was identified as driving the vehicle by another man.

He was arrested on October 24 at his home in East Ham.

Awais was identified by a witness at an ID parade and was further linked to the crime by forensic evidence.

Awais, 28, pleaded guilty to rape, assault by penetration, kidnap, robbery, driving whilst disqualified and driving without insurance at Snaresbrook Crown Court last year.

On January 10, Awais, of Wellstead Road, was sentenced to nine years and four months’ imprisonment.

The Crawley peadophile brought to justice after more than 30 years

Clive Manning sexually assaulted a seven-year-old girl (Image: Sussex Police)

This paedophile has been jailed for sexually assaulting a seven-year-old girl in Crawley.

Clive Manning met the young victim, who legally cannot be named when he was 21 and living in the town in the 1980s. He groomed her and engaged in sexual activity with the girl for months before moving out of the area.

More than 30 years later, the pair crossed paths by chance, and it was this meeting that prompted the victim to bravely report the abuse to police for the first time in October 2017.

Manning, 54, of Burnt Oak Lane, Newdigate, in Surrey, was arrested and charged with 12 counts of indecent assault which happened between the autumn of 1986 and spring of 1987.

He was found guilty of all charges at Lewes Crown Court on January 7 and jailed for 15 years on January 16.

Detective Sergeant Martin Alchin-Gadd, of Sussex Police, said after the sentencing: “The victim was very brave to come forward after all this time.

“She has lived with the abuse she suffered as a child for a long time before deciding to come and speak to us.

“Now she has seen justice served.”

Hillingdon taxi driver who sexually assaulted people with disabilities

William Busher (Image: Thames Valley Police)

In January, this taxi driver was jailed for more than five years for sex offences against people with disabilities, BBC News reported at the time.

William Busher, 69, of Long Lane, Hillingdon, was sentenced at Oxford Crown Court having previously pleaded guilty to nine charges.

They included seven counts of sexual activity with a person with a learning disability impeding choice and causing and inciting sexual activity with someone with a disability impeding choice.

Investigating officer detective constable Sophie Hollis said Busher had “abused his position of trust” and took advantage of the women’s vulnerabilities.

The ex-cop who repeatedly sexually assaulted a 12-year-old

Sick paedophile Simon Owoade carried out sex attacks on his young victim in car parks and hotels (Image: Met police)

Sick Simon Owoade contacted a 12-year-old girl on a social media messaging site and persuaded her to meet him on a number of occasions.

During these meetings, he sexually assaulted her in car parks and hotels. It only stopped when the victim’s parents became suspicious.

Harrow Crown Court heard how Owoade, from St Anselms Road in Hayes, groomed his victim online.

Making the first contact in June 2017, the child rapist managed to convince the girl to meet him a number of times over the following weeks for sex in London and Potters Bar, Hertfordshire.

The former Met Police employee was jailed on January 17 after he admitting raping the young girl.

Metropolitan Police confirmed Owoade was employed as a PCSO in Osterley and Spring Grove Safer Neighbourhoods teams.

They added that during his time there from 2006 to 2008, there were “no reports of any offences being committed in his capacity as a PCSO”.

The Met went on to say that he left “of his own volition” in 2008. Owoade was sentenced to nine years and ten months in prison.

The imam who could have more victims

Justice caught up with Pirzada thanks to the bravery of his two victims (Image: Met police)

This monster was trusted to privately teach the Quran to two young girls.

He abused his power as an imam to sexually abuse the girls, aged between nine and 11, and he could have got away with it if it were not for their courage to fight for justice.

They will have to live with the trauma of what he did and there are fears he could have more victims.

Hafiz Azizur Rehman Pirzada was found guilty of nine child abuse offences against the two girls and jailed for eight years on January 21. The 76-year-old’s victims came forward to explain to police the horror they had been put through in 2015.

Pirzada, of Laughton Road, Northolt, carried out the sex attacks on the young girls when was appointed as their tutor between 2007 and 2009.

After year-long investigation police arrested Pirzada at his home in July 2016. He was convicted of seven counts of sexual assault of a child and two counts of causing a child to engage in sexual activity following a trial at Snaresbrook Crown Court.

As part of his punishment, Pirzada will be on the Sex Offenders’ Register for life.

The rapist who subjected the mother of his child to a prolonged campaign of violence

A man who put his partner through unimaginable horrors was jailed for 20 years on January 24.

The abuser, who has not been named to protect the identity of his victim, was tried at Harrow Crown Court for a string of shocking crimes.

The court heard how the victim lived in fear of her extremely controlling partner and he became violent after he suspected that she was having an affair with a work colleague.

She tried to convince him that it was not true. However, fearing that her continual denials would lead to further physical abuse, the victim later said she did have an affair.

After weeks of physical violence and forced sex at a property in the High Barnet area, the defendant’s mother called the police.

Officers attended and he was arrested. The victim was taken by police to safety and then to a Haven for specialist support and gave the account of the instances of abuse she had been subjected to.

Her husband was charged with a string of offences on July 16 last year.

The defendant’s own mother and aunt gave evidence against him. His mother told the court how she kept a hammer by the bed and would have used it against him if she had seen him striking his partner.

The defendant was found guilty of nine charges after a trial which ended on December 18 last year.

The Londoner who kissed a boy in McDonald’s

Muhammed Mucahid tried to usher an 11-year-old boy into a cubicle at the restaurant (Image: Met police)

A man who kissed an 11-year-old boy and tried to usher him into a cubical of a fast food restaurant has been jailed for 14 months.

Muhammed Mucahid approached an 11-year-old boy in the toilets of a McDonalds in Southend High Street on August 5 last year.

Mucahid kissed the boy on the cheek and tried to usher him into a cubicle. The boy ran off from the toilet and rejoined his father who had been ordering food.

When the boy saw Mucahid follow another child and their mother into the toilets he told his father what happened and his father alerted staff who then identified Mucahid as being responsible.

This was overhead by on off-duty Special Constable who followed Mucahid and detained him before being joined, two other officers. He was later charged with assaulting a boy under the age of 13 by touching.

The 58-year-old from Gladstone Avenue, London, denied the charges but was found guilty at Basildon Crown Court on January 31. At the same court on February 1 he was jailed for 14 months, will be on the Sex Offenders’ Register for 10 years and made subject to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) for 10 years.

A charge of breaching an SHPO is to lie on file. Investigating officer T/Detective Constable Anthony Kopf, from Southend CID, said: “Muhammed Mucahid approached this boy while he was in a vulnerable position – alone in a toilet.

“Fortunately the victim ran off and alerted his father which led to Mucahid being detained.

“He poses a danger to children and I hope this sentence will help protect them from him in future.”

The ‘opportunist’ paedophile

West London paedophile who sexually assaulted three young girls at “any opportunity presented to him” has been jailed for six years.

David Moyle, of Yeading Lane, Hayes, inappropriately touched the girls, who were all under the age of 13, in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire and in Harrow between 2011 and 2017.

The 75-year-old was found guilty of two counts of sexual assault of a female child under 13, and one count of engaging in sexual activity with a child after a five-day trial at Aylesbury Crown Court and was locked up on January 24.

An investigation by Thames Valley Police was launched in 2017 after Moyle’s victims told the police what he had done. Moyle was arrested on December 27 of that year.

During their investigation, detectives found Moyle had sexually assaulted the girls over a seven-year period.

“He was an opportunist,” said investigating officer Detective Constable Collette Parker.

“He took any opportunity presented to him to touch the three girls in a sexual manner under their clothing.”

‘Extremely traumatic’

Speaking after the sentencing, DC Parker praised the bravery of the three victims and thanked them for their help in convicting Moyle.

“I would like to thank the victims for their courage, bravery and determination throughout the investigation and trial,” she said.

“It has been an extremely traumatic time for them and I hope that the unanimous guilty verdicts and the sentence will bring them some closure.

“I would also like to thank prosecuting counsel Graham Smith for his work in securing this conviction.

“This sentence reflects the hard work that is carried out by the Child Abuse Investigation Unit in bringing offenders to justice and I would encourage anybody who has been a victim of childhood sexual abuse to report it to the police.”

The disgusting Dagenham child rapist

Michael Paule finally faced justice, 30 years after he started abusing the very young girl(Image: Metropolitan Police)

Child rapist Michael Paule spent three years sexually abusing a girl below the age of 10 at an address in Dagenham over a three-year period in the late 1980s and early 90s.

His victim was finally able to report the historic sex abuse to police in November 2016 and the following September Paule was arrested and brought in for questioning.

The 66-year-old denied all allegations but was eventually charged on July 7, 2018, and sentenced in February this year.

The St George’s Road resident received 10 years in prison for four counts of historic rape of a female under the age of 16 years old and three counts of indecent assault on a girl under the age of 14 years old.

The remorseless serial offender who tried to sexually assault a woman

Police described him as a remorseless and dangerous man (Image: Met)

A remorseless serial offender who tried to sexually assault a young woman in Colliers Wood was caught after a witness followed him to help police.

Joseph Galloway, of Upper Richmond Road, Putney, has been described by police as a “dangerous man” capable of “heinous crimes”, after he followed and attacked a woman in her 20s on September 5, 2018.

A court heard how, at around 9.20pm, the 68-year-old followed his victim from Colliers Wood Tube station onto a bus and then attacked her from behind as she walked home, pushing her to the ground as she fought and eventually stealing her purse.

Police commended the victim for her bravery in fighting Galloway off, which alerted a nearby witness.

The witness herself was also praised for following Galloway onto a train to note his appearance and the station where he got off.

On February 12 he was jailed for four years and 10 months.

The predator who told his victim not to tell

Alan Starling has been jailed for nine and a half years (Image: Met Police)

This sick South London paedophile sexually abused a young boy and warned him not to tell anyone.

Alan Starling, of Chaldon Way, in Coulsdon, befriended his victim’s parents and over a long period of time grooming him.

The 47-year-old sexually abused the young boy, and the sick acts were only discovered when he was 13-years-old.

Starling has now been jailed for nine-and-a-half years.

The paedophile pleaded guilty to 12 counts of child abuse at Croydon Crown Court on February 13.

On July 27 last year police were notified that text messages had been found on a spare family phone that had been used by the child.

The messages suggested Starling had been sexually abusing the boy.

The victim confirmed to officers that Starling had carried out sex attacks on him and he was told by him not to tell anyone

Starling was arrested on the same day and gave a no comment interview, making a written statement denying the allegations.

He was subsequently charged with rape.

As well as being given the lengthy prison sentence, Starling was placed on the Sex Offenders’ Register for life.

Detective Constable Charlie Lourenco, investigating officer of South West Safeguarding Unit, said after the sentencing: “The victim showed incredible courage to come forward and this conviction has ensured his voice was heard and action has been taken.

“The lengthy custodial sentence will serve to protect the public and help give encouragement to victims of similar crimes to come forward.”

What did Starling plead guilty to?

Starling pleaded guilty to 12 counts of child abuse at the hearing:

  • Three counts of sexual activity with a child;
  • Three counts of causing or inciting a child under 13 to engage in a sexual activity;
  • Two counts of causing or inciting a child to engage in sexual activity;
  • Two counts of causing or inciting a child to engage in penetrative sexual activity; and
  • Two counts of penetrative activity with a child.

A music teacher and organist who claims to have played at more than 1,000 weddings used his status as a performer to groom youngsters.

Andrew Simon Wilson, 57, was put on trial for 19 sexual offences, 16 of which related to crimes against three boys aged between nine and 14.

The paedophile claims to be ‘reliable, qualified and experienced’ on his website, but on February 15 he was sentenced to 12 years in prison at Lewes Crown Court.

Detectives have said he used his position as an experienced musician to isolate, target and groom underage boys.

Wilson, of Norwood Way, Walton-on-the Naze, in Essex, was found guilty of a string of offences on February 12 following a 17-day trial.

Some of his sickening crimes took place in South London while he was a choirmaster and music teacher at St Mary’s Church, Beddington.

The majority of his offending took place in Warnham, West Sussex, near Crawley.

His vile behaviour spanned decades; some crimes took place in the 1980s while others were committed as recently as 2011.

Wilson’s horrible crimes

His crimes are as follows:

  • Two cases of indecent assault and two cases of gross indecency on a boy at locations in Warnham, West Sussex, in the mid-1980s;
  • Eight cases of indecent assault and two cases of gross indecency on another boy at locations in Warnham in the mid-1980s;
  • One case of sexual assault and one case of meeting a child for sexual activity, both relating to another boy between 2008 and 2011, at locations in South London, and in Germany on choir tours; and
  • Three cases of making a total of 1,366 indecent images of children.

The trial judge directed the jury to return a verdict of not guilty in relation to one other case of alleged indecent assault on another boy in Warnham in the mid-1980s.

Wilson will be a registered sex offender for life.

He was also made subject to an SHPO.

In addition, the paedophile was handed a 12-year prison term.

The Epsom paedophile who raped a five-year-old boy and abused a toddler

Kyle Fox has been jailed for 22 years (Image: National Crime Agency)

This sick paedophile raped a five-year-old boy and sexually abused a three-year-old girl.

Kyle Fox, from Epsom, filmed his “shocking and dreadful abuse of children”, with videos of the attacks later appearing on the dark web.

The 26-year-old started abusing the little girl when she was still a baby.

He has now been locked up for 22 years.

Kingston Crown Court heard on March 1 there were 13,000 photographs and videos of indecent child images on Fox’s computers.

Some of these videos showed the young boy being sexually abused, while others were of the girl.

In total, a staggering 4,743 images were Category A – the most serious kind of abuse.

He admitted carrying out sex attacks on the children but denied posting any of the footage online, claiming that he had lost a memory stick containing the abuse and someone else posted the horrific content to the dark web site which has now been taken down.

Files discovered on his seized laptop after Fox was arrested included images of the boy being attacked.

A sofa bed where the girl had been abused was found in a search of his home.

The court also heard that Fox had a large collection of abuse images involving these two victims and other children.

Fox pleaded guilty to 22 charges against him, including rape, sex assaults and sharing indecent images, which started six years ago.

His victims are unrelated, it was heard.

While sentencing, Judge Georgina Kent said: “You sexually abused two very young and vulnerable children.

“Your offences were detected when a video of the abuse was uploaded on to a file-sharing website.

“It came to the attention of officers who were able to trace you from the data. These are extremely serious and depraved offences.

“No right-minded person could be other than horrified by this appalling series of offences.”

Fox was jailed for 22 years with an additional two years extended license. He is subject to an SHPO and his devices were ordered to be destroyed.

National Crime Agency senior investigating officer Jason Booth said after the hearing: “Kyle Fox has committed utterly horrific offences with ‘first-generation’ images of that abuse appearing online.

“Law enforcement needs to be able to proactively target the highest risk, hardest to tackle child sexual abuse and exploitation offenders, using covert and specialist assets as increasingly required and focus on areas where there is a greater risk of contact abuse.

“The NCA prioritises these cases to safeguard vulnerable children and prosecute offenders.”

The Green Park-sex attacker

Gergo Brummel attacked a woman in Green Park (Image: Met Police)

A sex attack victim was rescued by police who heard her screaming in a Central London park.

Gergo Brummel, 33, set upon the woman in Green Park in the early hours of April 20 last year.

Officers who were on patrol in Piccadilly heard the victim screaming from inside the park and rushed to her aid.

They found Brummel and the woman struggling and the latter immediately alleged that she had been grabbed from behind and sexually assaulted – she had fought Brummel off before the struggle ensued.

On searching the area, officers found a condom; it was sent away for the forensic examination which showed it to have Brummel’s DNA on it.

Brummel, of Crescent Road, Woolwich, was found guilty of sexual assault.

He was sentenced to 18 months at Inner London Crown Court on March 5.

The sex offender was also sentenced to 20 weeks’ imprisonment for breaching a restraining order in relation to a separate incident.

The judge ordered that the sentences should run consecutively.

‘Dangerous man’

“If it was not for the quick actions of the officers that night, I have no doubt that Brummel’s attack would have escalated,” said Detective Constable Mick Heaney of Westminster Police.

“I would like to thank those officers but also the victim for supporting this investigation.

“This has resulted in a dangerous man being put behind bars.”

On his release from prison, Brummel will be made to sign the Sex Offenders’ Register for ten years.

Paedophile claimed his ‘vulnerable’ victim was lying

Michael Shaw has been described as a "dangerous predator"
Michael Shaw has been described as a “dangerous predator” (Image: Met Police)

A sick paedophile preyed on a “vulnerable” girl in West London and then accused her of lying about it.

Dangerous predator Michael Shaw, 69, groomed his victim when she was in her early teens and got her to meet him at a home in West London.

The abuse started when Shaw would tickle the victim, before sexually assaulting her.

Shaw, of Stable Close, in Northolt, Ealing, was found guilty by a jury at Isleworth Crown Court of:

– Three counts of sexual activity with a child under 16 years old;
– Three counts of causing or inciting a child under 16 to engage in sexual activity; and
– One count of oral rape.

These horrific sex attacks took place in the early 2000s.

The victim reported the sexual abuse to police in June 2017. Upon his arrest, Shaw said: “It’s not true.”

Shaw was jailed for 14 years on March 11.

Detective Constable Paul Jackson, from the Metropolitan Police’s West Area Child Abuse Investigation Team, said: “This result is a great achievement that removes a dangerous predator off the streets.

“Shaw preyed on a vulnerable young girl, grooming her for his own gratification.

“I would like to commend the bravery and courage of the victim who comes forward to police after all these years, and describe the horrible memories that she endured whilst being abused by Shaw.”

An NSPCC spokeswoman added: “Shaw’s actions are despicable and will have had a devastating impact on his victim.

“She has shown incredible bravery in speaking out and we hope that Shaw’s sentencing gives her and her family some measure of closure.

“This case shows that it is never too late for victims to come forward to seek justice – they will be listened to.”

The creep who filmed ‘upskirting’ videos on the Underground

Sanjayan Nadarajah uploaded the videos to a porn site (Image: British Transport Police)

A man who filmed nearly 50 ‘upskirting’ videos on the London Underground and published them on a porn site has been sentenced to eight months in prison.

Sanjayan Nadarajah, 43, pleaded guilty to five counts of outraging public decency and two counts of voyeurism at Highbury Magistrates’ Court on February 4.

He was sentenced to eight months in prison at Blackfriars Crown Court last Monday (11/03) and handed a five-year SHPO.

Between May and July 2018, Nadarajah covertly filmed 46 videos under women’s skirts using a hidden camera phone in his laptop bag and uploaded them to a porn site.

Officers were alerted to the ‘upskirting’ videos, which were openly available on the site, and found 11 more which were locked.

The majority of the videos were filmed on the London Underground, with some also on a shopping centre escalator.

They traced Nadarajah, who was visible in a handful of the videos, to his home address in Surrey where he was then arrested in October.

In his police interview, Nadarajah admitted he got sexual gratification from filming women covertly, and that he never asked their permission.

In a statement read out in court, one victim, a 22-year-old woman, said she felt “sickened” and “paranoid” to find out Nadarajah had filmed her without knowledge.

Detective Constable Mark Pink said: “Nadarajah had absolutely no regard or respect for the privacy of the women he filmed, and he clearly took pleasure in exploiting them for his own sexual gain.

“Not only did he film them without their consent, he then shared these sordid videos online for other like-minded people to view.

“I am pleased that the judge saw fit to hand him an eight-month custodial sentence, and I hope it serves as a strong reminder to all that we absolutely will not tolerate unwanted sexual behaviour on the railways.

“We will find these offenders and we will bring them before the courts.”

Siwan Hayward, Director of Compliance and Policing at Transport for London, said: “Nadarajah’s behaviour was predatory and criminal.

“We are glad that he has been imprisoned for this inexcusable crime and are determined to rid the transport network of this vile offence.

“We thank the women for coming forward and reporting these incidents and helping to prevent Nadarajah from preying on others.

“We would strongly encourage anyone that experiences anything similar to please report it by texting 61016 or calling 101.”

The predator whose crimes were exposed while he was in prison

Taiwo Benson (Image: Met Police)

Between January 1 and December 31, 2015, Taiwo Benson committed a series of sordid sexual acts against his young victims.

The 46-year-old sex offender recently found himself before a judge at Kingston Crown Court to be sentenced for his grotesque behaviour.

On March 15, the court heard how Benson, who was already serving a nine-year prison sentence at HMP Littlehey, was back in court in connection with sex crimes.

On April 5, 2016, Benson was jailed for nine years for a number of offences against four victims aged between 13 and 15.

Following the sentencing, detectives from the Met’s Child Abuse and Sexual Offences Command (CASO) retrieved two mobile phones belonging to him.

They contained 1,435 conversations with other potential victims across various social media sites.

The team spent more than two years processing the data.

The officers travelled across the UK and attempted to contact in excess of 500 girls whom they believed Benson had spoken to.

The predator used the names of ‘The Real MVP’, ‘Tony’ and ‘Timi’ on a range of applications, including WhatsApp, Facebook, Viber and BBM (Blackberry messaging).

Benson groomed numerous young girls and evidence indicated he had engaged in sexual intercourse with some of his victims.

After making contact with them, he attempted to initiate a meeting for sex and requested images of them.

Twisted offers

Benson offered a range of goods, but primarily money to encourage them to meet with him.

When a victim disclosed her age Benson was not deterred from contacting her further.

After an investigation, the paedophile pleaded guilty on November 23 last year to the following crimes:

– One count of causing a child aged 13 to 15 to watch/look at an image of sexual activity;
– Two counts of an adult meeting a girl under 16 following sexual grooming;
– Two counts of causing a child 13 to 15 to watch a sexual act;
– Four counts of engaging in penetrative sexual activity with a girl aged 13 to 15;
– One count of the offender over 18 cause a child aged 13 to 15 to watch a sexual act; and
– One count of offender 18 or over engaging in penetrative sexual activity with a girl aged 13 to 15.

As punishment for the latest batch of proven crimes, he was sentenced to two years in prison – on top of his existing nine-year jail term.

Serial child sex attacker jailed

Lloyd Weekes (Image: Met Police)

A 14-year-old girl riding the bus with her friend turned around to see 57-year-old Lloyd Weekes touching her inappropriately.

The revolting incident, on a W3 bus in Haringey, happened on February 26, 2018, after the girls boarded the crowded bus at Wood Green.

The girl felt like someone was touching her and turned around, confronting Weekes before getting off the bus and reporting him to the police.

CCTV images of the suspect circulated among officers quickly led to the identification of child sex attacker Weekes, who had been responsible for previous similar incidents on the Underground network.

Weekes pleaded guilty to the offence on February 9, 2019, and was sentenced to two years’ imprisonment at Wood Green Crown Court on March 28.

He was also ordered to sign the sex offenders register for 10 years, and a 10-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order was made.

‘Dangerous’ Arnos Grove paedophile arranged to meet an underage girl at a hotel

Robert Morrison has been imprisoned for three years

This “dangerous” paedophile was jailed after arranging to meet an underage girl at a hotel.

Robert Morrison, 57, of Limes Avenue, Arnos Grove, was convicted of grooming offences and sentenced to three years’ imprisonment at Wood Green Court on Friday, April 12.

A five-year extended licence period was also imposed by the judge as a finding of dangerousness was reached.

He has also been ordered to sign the sex offenders register for life.

Morrison was snared by independent investigators on Wednesday, February 13, after sending explicit messages to a 13-year-old girl.

The girl’s profile was a decoy on an online platform called “Kik”. During the time the pair were exchanging messages, he had incited the child to commit sexual acts on themselves and had also incited the child to meet him at a hotel.

The grooming messages comprised of over 400 pages of chat between the two decoys and Morrison. This clear pattern of dialogue outlined ages of the suspect and the victims, establishing an enduring relationship with both decoys, subsequently suggesting meeting places and including sexual overtones within the messages.

The defendant had committed a number of breaches of an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) issued in 2018. Morrison was prohibited from possessing the digital cameras and USB sticks as well as communicating with children online.

Morrison was also convicted of attempting to meet a child to commit a sexual offence in the United States in October 2004. He was sentenced to five years imprisonment and was deported from the USA after completing his sentence.

Detective Inspector Paul Ridley from North Area CID said: “Morrison is a dangerous paedophile who is a clear risk to children which is demonstrated by his history of offending both here and in the United States.”

Vile Beckenham sex offender raped a woman at knifepoint when she was on way home from the cinema

Peter Hall has been jailed for 12 years for the offence

This vile man was sentenced to 12 years in jail after pleading guilty to raping a woman at knifepoint.

Peter Hall, 58, of no fixed abode, pleaded guilty to the rape at Snaresbrook Crown Court on January 11, 2019. He was sentenced at the same court on April 12.

Hall carried out the attack 30 years ago in Beckenham on October 12, 1986. A 19-year-old woman was walking along Worsley Bridge Road, SE26 after a night out at the cinema when Hall grabbed her from behind.

He held a knife to her throat and forced her to walk to a secluded area before raping her. After the attack, Hall left the scene and the woman ran home to raise the alarm.

An investigation was launched by police but, despite extensive enquiries, no suspect could be identified. However, clothing which contained DNA samples were recovered from the scene and stored – this would prove crucial to the conclusion of this case.

DNA breakthrough decades after a horrific rape

In 2004, Hall, then using the alias Carl Oates, was arrested in connection with outstanding burglary offences at Stansted Airport. As part of that arrest, his DNA was taken and uploaded to the National DNA database.

A routine cold case review of the rape case was undertaken in 2011. Part of this consisted of re-testing the DNA samples available, using technology that had advanced over the course of time.

Scientists established there was a match probability of 1 in 1 billion between DNA from Hall in 2004 and the DNA from semen found at the scene of the rape.

A warrant was issued for Hall’s arrest and in 2016 it emerged he had been arrested in Belgium for theft offences. A European Arrest Warrant was issued and Hall was extradited back to London in December 2018. He initially denied any involvement in the rape but due to the weight of evidence against him, he ended up admitted to the offence at court.

Wayne Randolfi committed the vile act on board a train near London Liverpool Street

This ‘persistent sex pest’ was handed a prison sentence after he touched himself inappropriately in front of two women on board a train in East London.

Wayne Randolfi, of no fixed address, appeared before Blackfriars Crown Court on June 14 where he was handed five months in jail.

At 3.30pm on February 10, Randolfi, a registered sex offender, was on a train travelling between Liverpool Street and Bethnal Green.

During the journey, the 30-year-old adjusted his trousers to loosen them before touching himself inappropriately in front of two women.

Following the vile act, his image was circulated amongst police and he was quickly identified by officers who had investigated similar offences linked to him. It was also discovered he was in breach of a previous Sexual Harm Prevention Order.

At court, Randolfi admitted a charge of exposure. As well as the custodial sentence, he was also ordered to pay a £115 victim surcharge.

Detective Constable Sri Mendis from British Transport Police, said: “Randolfi is a persistent sexual pest, who has a history of committing more than 15 similar offences against women and children in the last five years.

“I fully welcome this prison sentence and hope it serves as a strong reminder to Randolfi that this disgusting behaviour will not be tolerated.

“I would like to thank the victim in this case for reporting this behaviour to us. We take every report seriously and will work with the courts to obtain tough sentences.”

Shakur Valentino, 21, was sentenced to 12 years in prison (Image: Met police)

This vile man was been jailed for 12 years for raping a woman in central London.

Shakur Valentino, 21, of no fixed address pleaded guilty at Southwark Crown Court on 18 March to two counts of rape, kidnapping, ABH and two counts of sexual assaults. He was sentenced at the same court on Thursday, 20 June.

At around half three in the morning of Monday, February 4 the victim, a woman in her 60s, was attacked and raped by Valentino as she walked to a bus stop after finishing cleaning jobs in central London.

Valentino had followed her down Haymarket and then dragged her into St Albans Street, where the attack took place.

Officers arrested Valentino near to the scene after police were called by a witness. He was taken into police custody and charged the next day.

The investigating officer, DC Hannah Wilson, said: “Valentino’s offences were both shockingly violent and utterly pathetic. It hardly needs saying that for a young man to target a woman four decades older than himself only compounds his cowardly and repellent actions.

“Thankfully, due to a witness calling police and officers arriving very quickly, Valentino was arrested to face justice. Women in London are safer with him off our streets, and this lengthy sentence is fully justified.”

The vile man who sexually assaulted a teenager on a bus in Dagenham has been jailed.

Samuel Stoica, 23, of Ripple Road, Barking, pleaded guilty at Snaresbrook Crown Court on Friday, 19 July. He was sentenced to 16 months in prison and will be deported to Romania after his sentence.

He will also remain on the sex offence register for ten years.

The court heard how on 24 May, Stoica boarded a bus route 173 in Dagenham and went to the upper deck. He engaged a 17-year-old girl in conversation.

He then sexually assaulted the female by kissing her, grabbing her around the throat, and forcing his hand onto the body. He also exposed his penis.

Stoica was identified from CCTV footage on the bus and promptly arrested following enquiries.

DC Teresa Moore from the Roads and Transport Policing Command said: “This was a particularly nasty assault on a young woman, who was going about her business on the bus network. The suspect used force against a teenager alone on a bus.

“The sentence sends out a clear message that such conduct will not be tolerated and will be dealt with robustly.”

Alexander Philo-Steele dubbed himself the “Peter Pan nanny” (Image: Met Police)

A monstrous man who gained the trust of a single mother before abusing her two sons has been sentenced to a 14-year extended sentence.

Alexander Philo-Steele, 36, who dubbed himself as the ‘Peter Pan nanny’, advertised his so-called childminding services on a number of websites and claimed to be a professional who provided “attentive care”.

One advert read: “I am a fully-trained and experienced male nanny. I specialise in early years care, education and development.”

He added: “I excel at providing high standards of attentive care. I am described as nurturing, reassuring and supportive.”

In September 2017, the disgusting sex offender befriended a mum with two young sons aged six and seven.

In order to gain her trust, Philo-Steele, from Earls Court, told her he had been studying for a master’s degree in childhood anthropology at Brunel University.

He went on to groom and sexually assault the woman’s two young boys.

A historic case of sexual assault came to light and he was found guilty of abusing three victims in total.

“Alexander Philo-Steele held a sexual interest in young boys and acted upon his desires over a number of years,” said senior Crown prosecutor Kunal Davé.

“He preyed upon a single mother, gaining her trust by calling himself the ‘Peter Pan nanny’ and aimed to sell himself as attentive and nurturing to prospective employers.

“Philo-Steele carried out a calculated campaign where he groomed and manipulated these young boys in order to fulfil his sexual appetite.”

Dangerous predator who murdered stepmum also raped girl, 14, and fathered her child

The young victim believes Mohammed Fethaullah spiked her drink as she collapsed after finishing it (Image: Met Police)

This monster has been jailed for 16 years for raping a 14-year-old girl in the back of his car and fathering her child.

Mohammed Fethaullah, 58, was jailed for raping the teenage girl on Friday, July 26 having previously been found guilty of the horrific offence.

He had been locked up in 2003 for the murder of his stepmom.

The rape happened before this, in 1999, but it only came to light in 2017 when the victim contacted police.

She had been working after school at a grocer in Brixton, South London, that Fethaullah managed. On Friday, 18 June 1999 she had worked a shift and was waiting to collect her wages.

Fethaullah spiked her drink before taking her to a secluded spot in his car and raping her.

A short time later the victim found out she was pregnant. She had a boyfriend and despite knowing there was a chance the baby could be the product of the rape, the couple decided to have and raise the child.

The pair split when the boy was about two and their relationship deteriorated.

In November 2016 a DNA test was carried out which proved the child was conceived as a result of the rape.

Detectives from the Met’s Child Abuse and Sexual Offences Command launched an investigation that took 28 months to bring to court as officers examined DNA and forensic evidence and tried to piece together the events of 20 years ago.

Fethaullah, of no fixed address, was convicted on May 23 following a trial at Inner London Crown Court.

Detective Sergeant Kendal Moore, investigating officer, said: “Fethullah is a dangerous predatory individual who subjected a 14-year-old girl to a terrible ordeal. To see him behind bars for this offence after such a detailed and long investigation is very satisfying.

“I would like recognition given to the victim, who in such awful circumstances, found the strength to disclose this traumatic event and come forward to the police some 18 years later.
