Malik Yahya/

Two students of Nasarawa State University, Keffi, have reportedly lost their lives in a stampede during the distribution of palliatives on their campus.

Newsmakerslive.org learned that the intense struggle among the students to get a share of the palliatives resulted in the stampede that claimed the lives of the two victims.

Some other students were also reportedly injured in the incident.

The palliatives were donated to the students by the governor of Nasarawa State.

The deceased students, whose names have not been confirmed, were both in the 200 Level at the Department of Computer Science.

Governor Abdullahi Sule had on Tuesday directed state officials charged with distributing palliatives to extend the gesture to students of tertiary institutions.

The governor gave the directive during an emergency State Executive Council meeting in Lafia.
